§ Vendor programs
Activation Kit.
A paid program for vendors who want to invest in independent product quality signal — by subsidizing their own customers' independent sample submissions. Participation does not affect your composite score or leaderboard rank. What it does is accelerate the flow of your product into independent test queues, where quality proves itself.
Inquire→Paid program · launch target Q3 2026The Activation Kit is a paid program that launches alongside the full Q2/Q3 2026 public sample-submission rollout. Kits are being custom-designed per vendor in the interim. Inquire now to reserve a launch slot and shape the kit design.READ FIRST → § 01
What's in the kit
FIVE COMPONENTS
Co-branded shipping inserts
A one-page printed card goes into the vendor’s outgoing shipments with clear, non-promotional language: "This product was independently testable at Open Assay. Here’s how to send a sample." We design and print; the vendor includes. Inserts carry the vendor’s logo alongside the Open Assay mark so both parties own the co-branding.
Unique activation codes
Each insert carries a unique alphanumeric code that the customer enters when submitting a sample. We use the code to confirm the sample came through the activation flow (shipping reimbursement eligible, monthly reporting) rather than an independent public submission (no vendor tie). Codes are single-use and tied to a single batch.
Shipping-cost reimbursement
Vendors who activate the kit subsidize customer shipping costs to Open Assay. When a customer submits a sample using the vendor’s activation code, we reimburse the customer’s postage and bill the vendor monthly. Lab-testing cost remains free to everyone in the current model — reimbursement covers only the physical cost of getting the sample to the lab.
Monthly usage reports
Once per month, activated vendors receive a structured report: samples submitted using their codes, peptides covered, pass/fail distribution, and the underlying per-test permalinks on Open Assay. The report shows them what their customers have been shipping out into independent hands — useful product-quality signal, and a way to spot emerging batch issues early.
Embed widget for vendor site
A small iframe-embeddable widget the vendor can drop onto their own product pages showing the most recent Open Assay test result for that specific peptide. The widget links back to our assay record. Vendors can’t edit what the widget shows; editorial control of the content is maintained on our side.
§ 02
What the kit cannot do
EDITORIAL FIREWALL
The Activation Kit is a distribution program, not an editorial program. Running one has no effect on the following, and we publish that rule here so a vendor, a competitor, or a regulator can hold us to it:
- It does not move your composite score, leaderboard rank, or grade. Those are set entirely by test outcomes under the published formula.
- It does not give you preview or edit rights on any test result, COA, or page on the site. Samples contributed through the kit land in the same pipeline as independent public submissions.
- It does not let you suppress a failing result. If activation samples from a specific batch reveal a purity or identity problem, we publish — including any correction log entry — on the same timeline as any other sample.
- It does not change our affiliate disclosure posture. Kit participation is disclosed on the supplier page the same way an affiliate relationship is. The kit, the affiliate relationship, and the editorial ranking are three independent facts that all appear publicly.
Launch rates are being set per-cohort. Current baselines we're pricing against:
- Insert print + fulfillment — at cost, passed through to the vendor (~$0.40–$0.75 per insert for 1,000-unit runs).
- Unique-code issuance and tracking — included in the program fee; no per-code charge.
- Monthly reporting dashboard — included.
- Shipping reimbursement to customers — pass-through billing. We collect receipts, reimburse the customer, bill you monthly with full documentation.
- Monthly program fee — being finalized for the Q3 2026 cohort. Inquiring early locks in the launch-cohort rate.
There is no pay-to-rank option anywhere in the pricing. There will never be one.
Good fit
- Vendors running per-batch quality programs who want the external data to show it.
- Vendors who have cleaned up past quality issues and want public independent validation of the improvement.
- New vendors who want to build a public track record faster than waiting for organic customer submissions.
- Vendors with moderate-to-high volume who can afford the print runs and reimbursement pass-through.
Bad fit
- Vendors looking to buy ranking influence — the program explicitly doesn't provide that.
- Vendors whose product has known purity/identity issues and who would be revealed faster by increased testing volume.
- Vendors with no clear quality story to tell — the kit accelerates whatever the underlying signal is, up or down.
- Vendors unwilling to publish failing results from their own activation flow.
